but i know you see me when i'm waving at the pool
and i don't blame you for not waving too
maybe i waved at someone who's behind you
i'm not surprised to see your car outside the bar

parallel park with no help from anyone else

now what do i do with my hands when i see you?
with these hands that i abused
the nails i bit and chewed,
how i chewed down to the roots
and dug a well i fell right into
all the roots i tried to remove,
too tangled to break loose
with nails too dull and knots i can't undo?

i could say anything with my hands when i talk to you
i could be straight up lying
or telling the truth
no gesture i make or wave will get through
so now what do i do?

with these hands that i abused
